What does NAHF believe in? Our beliefs are very simple and straightforward…

1. HUMANS ARE NOT LABELS

You are not defined by your skin color, gender, sexuality, or any group identity.
You are not responsible for what others who share those traits have done. You are not a representative of a label, you are an individual, and you deserve to be treated as one. You should never feel as if your identity defines your limits or holds you back. America’s demographics are changing and we will soon no longer have a single racial majority. That reality makes it more important, not less to treat people as individuals rather than as racial groups.

2. DIVERSITY OF BELIEFS & OPINIONS

You have the right to believe whatever you want. Freedom of choice and freedom of thought are the foundation of democracy and a basic human right. Democracy works when people are free to debate ideas, vote, and still respect one another afterward. A society that punishes people for their beliefs or shuts down open debate is not democratic it is intolerant and oppressive.

For example, you have the right to believe that gender is biological.
You also have the right to believe that gender is based on personal identity. Holding either belief does not make you hateful.
Disagreement alone is not hate, and debate is not oppression. A tolerant society allows people to disagree on complex issues while still treating each other with dignity and respect.

3. TOLERANCE IS NOT OPTIONAL

You cannot choose what to tolerate based only on whether you agree with it or not.
Tolerance matters most when disagreement is uncomfortable.

Tolerance means the willingness to allow ideas, beliefs, or behavior to exist even when you strongly disagree with them.

Intolerance is the refusal to accept views, beliefs, or behavior simply because they differ from your own.

If tolerance only applies to people you agree with, then it isn’t tolerance at all.
“No tolerance for the intolerant” is often used to justify silencing people for their views, even when no violence or harm is involved.

4. SOLUTIONS CAN ONLY COME FROM FACTS

We believe in the “Scientific Method”. Real problems require evidence-based solutions. Ignoring reality because it feels unfair doesn’t solve anything, it only delays solutions. Progress depends on facing facts, not replacing them with comforting ideas.

5. NO COLLECTIVE GUILT

History shows that slavery, conquest, and injustice have existed across many civilizations, cultures, and races throughout human history. These wrongs were committed by individuals and societies of their time not by people alive today simply because they share a race or identity. Understanding history is essential. Assigning inherited guilt is not.

6. RESPECT FOR DEMOCRACY

Change must come through peaceful debate and democratic voting, not violence. Laws exist to protect society and maintain order. Knowingly choosing which laws to follow based on personal belief is not just destabilizing, it is morally wrong.
